Latest windows update error CoreTemp 1.11 processor notfound

Post by tamalero »

Hello!

The latest windows update just installed a few hours ago and I got the nasty surprise to find that CoreTemp is now throwing the "ERROR, CoreTemp did not find any supported processors. This program will not continue".

This was working fine for the past 6 months.

System:

Threadripper 1950X
ASUS X399 Prime
32GB DDR4 Ram (Hynix 3000CL15) Corsair Domminator Platinum
Nvidia 1070GTX Gigabyte G1 Gaming
1x VNME 256Gb (boot drive) 1x SSD (gaming drive) 1x4tb HDD (data file)
Asus XONAR DX

Weirdly. the core temp comes out empty??

*edit*
The only change was moving from BIOS 503 to BIOS 601 (AGESA change from TR1.0.0.4 to AGESA TR1.0.0.5)

Full error:

"Core temp did not find any supported processors. This program will not continue"
"If you are certain that your cpu is in the list of the supported processors, would like to create a register dump file to help the developers fix the issue?"

When clicking to generate the dump file, it creates an EMPTY FILE with ZERO TEXT.

I then reviewed my firewall to ensure it was not blocking by it, and nope, not blocked or anything.
Tried reinstalling, same error. Tried making the dump file again, nothing.. still empty.

As per my main post, the only change was moving from BIOS 503 to 603.

Forgot to mention, the other change was, obviously the new SPECTRE and release patches of Windows, that were installed between 2 days ago and Today.

Yes, I know that type of error, but I could use a TXT output from CPU-z to see if there's something Core Temp is missing.

If you ZIP the text file, it should easily fit inside the 256 KB limit. :-)
