I've been using Core Temp 1.6 for a while without issue, however I am unable to update the software beyond 1.6 -- any new versions, once installed, immediately crash on load, without exception. I'm using a i7-4790k, for reference.

Thank you. Can you try deleting 'Core Temp.ini' file and trying a newer version again?
From what I see, it could be caused by a simple problem in the configuration file. I'll also make some changes on my end to avoid this problem in the future.
