i read some article which are CPU temperature related and they mentioned core temp and CPU temp are two different readings that tools provide us. so i really wana ask whether these are same terms or different.

On this forum https://askubuntu.com/questions/265247/ ... e-between-core-temp-and-cpu-temp
I read the difference but the main question is that should i consider core temp or cpu temp to be more relevant if system overheats.
What is "Core Temp" ?

"Core Temp" is what AMD refers to as "TCTL" and is a non-physical temperature on an arbitrary scale measured in degrees. It does not represent an actual physical temperature like die or case temperature.

What is "CPU Temp" ?

"CPU Temp" is read by a sensor in the socket of the motherboard. It is a physical temperature and therefore will be effected by ambient temps inside the case.

That is a very old post, and depending on the CPU you have may be completely irrelevant.
When you ask a question it needs context. What processor? What software? Which readings?
"Core Temp" and "CPU Temp" may have different definitions or use different sensors, depending on your hardware and the software being used.

i have Intel Core i5 4300U processor and running multiple tools i.e
coret temp,speccy, and HWMonitor.
if i mention core temp it shows core temp o and core 1 temp seperately, whereas speccy only shows average temperature.
then again what was the purpose of mentioning different terms for CPU temperature

Every tool has its own ideology or ideas on how to implement monitoring.
I can only speak for Core Temp.
Modern processors have multiple thermal sensors, but the core temperatures are, in my opinion, the most important and relevant in our day to day tasks.
Core Temp reports the temperature as it reads it directly from sensors available on the CPU.
In the case of Intel CPUs, they expose per-core temperature values, therefore that is what Core Temp reports.
Other programs may display other values, taken from the thermal sensors in the cores and in other areas of the CPU, or use different methods to read a temperature which may be reported/calculated differently.

so you are saying that core temp is the accurate temperature meaning thereby CoreTemp programs is the most trustworthy tool when it comes to monitoring temperature of Intel CPUs only.

I said that my opinion, and this is Core Temp's ideology, is that the core temperatures are the most important ones for most people.
