[1.18.1] AMD EPYC 73F3 - BMC and CoreTemp report mismatch

Post by TrafficDevourer »

Greetings.
The latest Core Temp shows a rather very noticeable anomaly in thermals for AMD EPYC 73F3 when compared to the board's BMC which feels much closer to reality. Screencap showcasing the issue is attached below. Moreover, CoreTemp doesn't have sufficient info about the CPU itself (specifically Tj. Max, Lithography, and Modulation, but not necessarily limited to those).

If this is a bug, can it be fixed?

Regards,
T.D.

Hi,
Can you please attach a register dump (from the Tools menu) and I will take a look.
It appears that Core Temp does not take the -49 offset flag into consideration, as with -49 offset the temp would be on par with the board's BMC.

Thank you. I got this fixed, will be added into the next release.
Until that is out, you can apply a -49 offset in Options --> Adjust Offsets.

What about the missing CPU info while we're at it? Is there any way to obtain it and add into the app so there's less blank space to deal with?

Platform and Lithography too.
Modulation is not relevant for AMD CPUs.
And TjMax is not information that's available, to the best of my knowledge, to software.
